What data-sharing options do policyholders have? Can an ELD (Electronic Logging Device) be connected, in place of a dashcam?
Required telemetry data-sharing options: connect an existing ELD or install a Cover Whale-provided dashcam.

Our Program
Cover Whale now offers a flexible data-sharing feature for Auto Liability policies, providing a choice for policyholders to either connect an existing Electronic Logging Device (ELD) or use a forward-facing dashcam. This optionality allows drivers to leverage their existent ELDs as an alternative to installing a dashcam (provided by Cover Whale), while staying compliant with Cover Whale's telemetry-sharing requirements.
Our auto policies default to ELD data sharing, but post-bind, the policyholder will receive an email with the link to connect OR to pay (via Stripe) for a camera(s).
- SC and IL are the exceptions - ELD is the only telematics option in these states
