What data-sharing options do policyholders have? Can an ELD (Electronic Logging Device) be connected, in place of a dashcam?

Required telemetry data-sharing options: connect an existing ELD or install a Cover Whale-provided dashcam.

Cover Whale now offers a flexible data-sharing feature for Auto Liability policies, providing a choice for policyholders to either connect an existing Electronic Logging Device (ELD) or use a dual-facing dashcam. This optionality allows drivers to leverage their existent ELDs as an alternative to installing a dashcam (provided by Cover Whale), while staying compliant with Cover Whale's telemetry-sharing requirements.

Agents are guided to make a selection between connecting an ELD or installing a dashcam, based on their clients' preference during the application process.

When selecting the ELD option, please ensure that the client has a working ELD already installed in their vehicle and that Cover Whale supports their device.

The ELD option reflects Cover Whale's commitment to meeting policyholders' needs and enhancing their experience with our coverage.
