Here's how agents can get certified:
Once the policy or endorsement is bound, an agent can file for certification with IANA at UIIA.org. Or Cover Whale can file on the agent's behalf, but the agent must provide the following:
- Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC). This identifies the transportation company for which the policyholder is hauling. This will need to be added as a note in the Cover Whale Platform.
- UIIA Form 5c. Agents can obtain the form at https://uiia.intermodal.org/documents/uiia/epchec.pdf. This will need also to be added as a note in the Cover Whale Platform.
-
Agents must provide their agent code. If an agent doesn't have a UIIA agent code and needs to obtain it, they can watch this helpful video from UIIA. The agent code will need to be added as a note in the Cover Whale Platform.
