Choosing Your Telemetry Data Sharing Method

As part of their auto liability coverage programs, insurance carriers require telemetry data sharing to help manage risk and keep premiums affordable. At Cover Whale, we offer flexibility by providing two options for data sharing: connecting an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) or using a dual-facing dashcam. Below are the details for each method and how to get set up.

Option 1: Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Connection – Save $300 per vehicle

Why Choose ELD?

  • The fastest and easiest way to meet insurer requirements while saving $300 per vehicle.
  • Helps ensure compliance with insurance guidelines without the need for additional equipment.

How to Connect Your ELD:

  1. Check your email: After binding your policy, you'll receive a link to connect your ELD.
  2. Select your ELD vendor: Choose your vendor from the list provided.
  3. Follow the connection steps: Each ELD provider will have specific instructions for connection. Make sure to complete this process within 10 days of binding your policy.

What if ELD isn't possible?

  • You can switch to our dashcam option for an additional $300 per vehicle.

Option 2: Dual-Facing Dashcam – Extra $300 per vehicle

Why Choose Dashcam?

  • Dashcams provide additional safety features with dual-facing cameras for enhanced monitoring and protection.

How to Set Up the Dashcam:

  1. Receive your dashcam: Cover Whale will ship the dashcam to you after policy binding.
  2. Install the dashcam: Follow the setup instructions included in the package.
  3. Activate the dashcam: Ensure the dashcam is fully installed and activated within 10 days of delivery.
